About your instructors
Gizem Acar
Founder & Lead Instructor
I completed my Pilates certification at the STOTT PILATES International Training Center in Toronto after experiencing first-hand the many health benefits that Pilates offers. Prior to becoming a certified Pilates instructor, I trained in classical ballet with the Royal Academy of London in Istanbul, where I gained a deep understanding of movement patterns that balance form, flexibility, and strength.
After having two kids in the last two years, I have experienced a tremendous transformation mentally and physically. I kept the foundation of my work in Pilates and incorporated multiple disciplines, including weight training, to maximize my gains. Seeing incredible results, both mentally and physically, this became my teaching principal and led me to develop the program for Core Wellness.

Laurel Klafehn
Yoga Instructor
I am a yoga and movement instructor with 8 years of teaching experience across group and private classes. My style as an instructor exists at the intersection of modern neuroscience and movement and breath practices at the core of the yoga traditions. I am a certified 200 Hour YTT instructor, with an 80 Hour advanced certificate in Functional Neurology and Yoga.
My experience spans across many modalities, including asana-based flow classes, restorative yoga, and recovery from surgery and/or sports injuries. My main goal is to cultivate a space where students can recognize and appreciate the unique capabilities and sensations of their bodies. My classes are designed to be physically challenging and mentally energizing - and to encourage longterm mobility and strength.
